Making Good: What Would Elphaba Do?
In WICKED, Elphaba is faced with having to give up a life of fame in exchange for one of infamy in order for her to fight to save the Animals. When she sings “Defying Gravity,” she is acknowledging her call to help the unfortunate.
In today’s world, we are all faced with a similar challenge: to stand up for what’s right in order to make a difference in the world.
To this end, UNLIMITED is not only a fan society for WICKED, but it is also dedicated to helping social causes on a national and even a global scale. As we see in the story of Elphaba, one person can try to make a difference in society…but, as a group, we can have an even greater impact on the world. After all, “Together, we’re UNLIMITED!”
